Prenatal Care: Safe and effective multivitamin for pregnant women
Prenatal Care by EssentialSeries is a complete multivitamin developed for use during pregnancy. It is a food supplement in vegetable capsules, made with vegan docosahexaenoic acid from algae, citicoline (CDP-Choline), lutein, vitamins and minerals in highly bioavailable forms.
Prenatal Care is a specific vitamin and mineral formula especially designed for pregnant women, and its use can be (and is recommended to be) continued until the end of the first trimester after giving birth. The amounts used are safe and recommended for use during pregnancy, according to reports from European and American authorities.
Prenatal Care is suitable for vegan women.
Why buy Prenatal Care by HSN instead of another multivitamin?
Prenatal Care is the most complete formula for providing the nutrients needed during pregnancy.
Nutrients with controlled concentrations
The Prenatal Care multivitamin includes a source of lutein, a carotenoid of particular interest due to its nutritional relevance during pregnancy and other stages of life.
In many products, the amount of these compounds is usually very low, which limits their effectiveness. At HSN, we have developed a carefully optimised formula to ensure adequate and stable levels of the most important nutrients.
In this way, each Prenatal Care capsule provides precise concentrations of the most valuable compounds:
- 20% lutein
- 1.5% carotenoids
- 1.3% zeaxanthin
High-quality formulation
In the Prenatal Care formula you will find premium-quality forms of vitamins and minerals, such as:
- Calcium L-methylfolate, the most effective way to provide folate from a nutritional standpoint. It comes in the form of methylated folate as a calcium salt: stable and highly bioavailable.
- Methylcobalamin, an active form of vitamin B12, unlike other forms such as cyanocobalamin, which requires internal methylation processes in order for its properties to be optimally utilised.
- Cholecalciferol (vitamin D3), a form superior to ergocalciferol (vitamin D2) for improving the body's vitamin D status.
- K2-MK7 (vitamin K2), the menaquinone-7 (MK-7) form and natural K2 form with high bioavailability, not K1.
- Chelated minerals: such as iron and zinc bisglycinates. Albion® Minerals raw materials. It also contains chelated copper.
With Albion® Minerals minerals
The iron used in the formula is Ferrochel®.
And the zinc is also an Albion® Minerals raw material from the Balchem laboratory.
Balchem has become well known for the development of its Albion® Minerals, in the form of fully chelated salts, which ensures, as stated by the manufacturers themselves:
- Maximum stability and optimal preservation of the mineral without degradation.
- Complete intestinal absorption and maximum nutritional effectiveness.
- Full utilisation of the amount of mineral used.
- 0 digestive discomfort resulting from consumption.
But Balchem's Albion® Minerals are not the only high-quality ingredients.
Prenatal Care uses reference forms of vitamins and minerals in nutritional terms, in accordance with guidelines from food safety authorities.
Beta-Carotene
Vitamin A intake during pregnancy requires particular care, as high doses of this vitamin are not recommended during this period. However, it is still necessary to obtain vitamin A through the diet, as it is an essential nutrient for both the mother and the baby.
To meet vitamin A requirements, the use of a precursor form is recommended: beta-carotene, which is the most recommended form of vitamin A for use during pregnancy, as the body itself converts and uses the amounts of active retinol it needs from carotenoids, while the remainder is inactive and is simply eliminated without any issues.
At HSN, we carry out detailed analyses of the scientific literature to develop food supplements that are completely safe and offer maximum effectiveness.
Properties of Prenatal Care. A unique multivitamin
Prenatal Care provides you with all the vitamins you need during pregnancy, as well as important nutrients in its recommended daily dose, in accordance with international reference guidelines.
Vitamins
It contains all vitamins: both water-soluble and fat-soluble, which you need to consume daily.
You will find examples such as vitamin A, which also has positive effects on iron metabolism, something particularly important during pregnancy, and which also helps maintain good health.
Others, such as vitamin B12, help reduce tiredness and fatigue, which are very common during pregnancy and after childbirth.
Minerals
You will find important nutrients such as iron, which contributes to normal oxygen transport; zinc, which is important for normal fertility and reproduction; and iodine, which contributes to the normal production of thyroid hormones.
Among others, it also contains copper, also in chelated form, and chromium in picolinate form; both with high bioavailability.
Other nutrients
Such as citicoline (CDP-Choline), the highest-quality nutritional form of choline, a nutrient considered semi-essential in reference guidelines from the US Institute of Medicine.
While other manufacturers use choline tartrate forms, which, unless presented as a single ingredient in large amounts, end up providing a low percentage of base choline, we use the most premium nutritional form of choline: innovative citicoline.
And a key nutrient during pregnancy:
Vegan DHA
- Maternal intake of docosahexaenoic acid (DHA) contributes to the normal development of the eyes of the foetus and breastfed infant1.
The Prenatal Care formula has been completed with calendula extract, a plant containing important fat-soluble pigments widely recognised for their presence in scientific studies.
What can this product be combined with?
You do not need to use any additional multivitamins in your diet alongside Prenatal Care. Its composition is complete and does not require any combinations.
