How to take the gels?
Although the gels we present aren’t hydro, in the latest update we significantly reduced their density, making them much more fluid, with the essence of the classic evoenergy gels.
Thanks to this, even though the gels remain hypertonic due to their carbohydrate and electrolyte concentration, it’s no longer necessary to drink large amounts of water to take them. Now they’re much lighter and easier to take, and you can simply combine them comfortably with your usual isotonic drink.
When to take gels depending on your training?
- If the event or training is under 1 hour, as a recommendation you can take 1 gel before starting the physical activity and another 20 minutes before finishing.
- If the event or training is over 1 hour, keep in mind that it’s recommended to consume between 60 and 120 grams of carbohydrates per hour, which equals 2-6 gels per hour if you’re not getting carbs from other sources; usually around 2 gels per hour is enough, since the rest of the energy will come from your isotonic drink: Evocarbs 2.0 or Evotonic.
