This practice, known as amino-spiking, consists of adding nitrogenous compounds so the apparent protein value looks higher. In Evowhey we don’t resort to that: whey protein is already complete by itself.
Around 80% protein in the raw material: The WPC we use is exclusively nzmp™ from Fonterra™, with around 80% protein, a common reference value for a milk serum concentrate intended for nutrition.
If in some flavours you see values like 77 g of protein per 100 g and not 80 g, it’s because aromas, sweeteners, cocoa or other flavour ingredients also take space within the formula. The difference per shake is usually small, so our recommendation is to choose the flavour you enjoy most.
Flavours with cocoa may show slightly lower protein content because they need a higher proportion of cocoa powder. That’s why at HSN we display each flavour’s specific nutritional information, so you can compare transparently.

Do the flavours containing instant coffee contain caffeine?
The caffeine amount in coffee flavours is residual. Coffee is used for its aroma, color and flavour, not as a stimulant ingredient.
Is Evowhey a good protein to take before going to bed?
You can take it before sleep without issue. Still, if you’re after a protein specially designed for nighttime use, you can consider the caseins, for their slower release profile.
Can I combine Evowhey and creatine in the same shake?
Yes. Evowhey and creatine are compatible and can be taken the same day, in the same serving or in the same shake.
Do I need to combine Evowhey with other proteins or amino acids to improve it?

What is the lecithin in Evowhey and why is it included?
Sunflower lecithin is used to improve the dispersion of the protein in liquid and help prepare the shake. In Evowhey sunflower lecithin is used, not soy, to avoid soy allergen in the composition.
Why do you add sweeteners to Evowhey?
Sweeteners help achieve sweet flavours without adding extra calories. In Evowhey they’re used in very small amounts and the sugar present comes from the natural milk serum protein.
