Evolate 2.0 - The HSN-flavoured ISO with a taste

Evolate 2.0 (Whey Isolate CFM) from SportSeries is our whey protein isolate with flavour and sweetener, produced exclusively with nzmp™ raw material from Fonterra™, an ideal protein for all kinds of users looking for a protein powder to increase their protein intake in the diet. It’s common for people who’ve been using proteins for a long time to opt for Evolate 2.0 as one of their go-to options, but it’s also an excellent protein for beginners thanks to its nutritional quality, versatility, and range of flavours.

The nzmp™ whey protein isolate from Fonterra™ is obtained through a cross-flow microfiltration process applied to the natural milk serum, which is the original raw material used to obtain this protein, and which itself comes from grass-fed cows’ milk. Evolate 2.0, due to its protein characteristics, is considered a light option, like other Wheys.

Evolate 2.0 is a 'protein of reference' on the European market, since it’s made with nzmp™ raw material from Fonterra™ minimally processed, with critical control points 100% controlled to avoid any damage to the natural protein structures of milk whey, and moreover, it comes from grass-fed cows’ milk.

One of our 'Top sellers' - We present it to you

Evolate 2.0 is one of the proteins that has historically had the most success at HSN, and we’ve also improved it over time since its first launch back around 2013.

The success of Evolate 2.0 is easy to explain, and mainly lies in the type of protein it is: Whey Protein Isolate.

  •  It’s one of the proteins with the highest content of pure protein you can buy (isolate).
  •  Its processing is CFM, considered the reference for high-quality isolates.
  •  The origin is certified, European, from dairies recognized for the milk quality they obtain.
  •  It’s easily digested, light, and has low natural sugar and fat content.
  •  Its lactose content (although present) is lower than that of whey concentrates. In addition, Evolate 2.0 contains lactase.
  •  It’s suitable for cooking; one of Evolate 2.0’s most frequent uses is in Fit recipes.

Thanks to all this, combined with the well-known nutritional quality of dairy-origin proteins, which are the reference in protein quality for any dietary source, Evolate 2.0 has become one of our best options you can use no matter your goal.

Evolate 2.0 (isolates in general) has always been considered the “ideal protein before summer months,” but the truth is that Evolate’s quality has made this idea spread over the years, and right now any person who likes Evolate 2.0 uses it throughout the year, at any time of the season, it doesn’t matter.

If what you’re looking for is a quality, practical protein to take anytime just by mixing with water, Evolate 2.0 is the best option you can buy.

With a complete amino acid profile naturally - No additives: The amino profile is the measurement of an individual protein’s amino acid content. It’s common to find lower-quality (nutritional) proteins, or proteins marketed by brands less committed to quality processes in manufacturing, that don’t break down the amino acid contribution of their proteins.

Also pay attention, because many brands use a generic amino acid table to represent the amino profile of all flavours of the same protein, across all batches. This is because they don’t truly measure their amino acids, but use public-domain “average” values and don’t adjust them according to variation that can occur between batches or flavours.

At HSN we measure the amino profile of our proteins, differentiating its content based on flavour and batch, since protein powders like Evolate 2.0 are low-processed products and naturally show batch-to-batch variability.

The amino acids Evolate 2.0 contains are the natural amino acids of a milk whey protein, isolated, of quality.

In the international market, especially the American one, it became trendy a decade ago to start adding amino acids to proteins, since their contribution is quantified by nitrogen content, and amino acids are nitrogenous compounds, to artificially “bulk up” the protein contribution. This isn’t a banned practice but is considered illegal, a form of deception regarding protein quality.

At HSN we have rejected this practice since our foundation, even though many brands with international fame did it and sold it as a “superior protein” with added amino acids; it’s nothing more than a false way to boost protein content. Our Evolate 2.0 has a natural content of essential amino acids, BCAA's, and Glutamine; it has a recognized amino profile as a quality protein, yet this amino profile is natural to the high-quality protein, not artificially modified via amino-spiking.

Enjoy a protein with a real amino acid profile and real quality.

WPI 90% - High-protein raw material: The raw material of Evolate 2.0 is whey protein isolate nzmp™ from Fonterra™ (Whey Protein Isolate) with 90% protein.

What this means is that the base nzmp™ protein raw material used to prepare Evolate 2.0 flavours provides around 90 g of protein per 100 g of product.

And why don’t all Evolate flavours have this content?

The protein content of Evolate 2.0 flavours varies from 75 g/100 g for the Double Chocolate flavour to 90 g/100 g for flavours like White Chocolate and Lemon. These variations stem from the other ingredients, besides the protein itself, used to make the flavour. In fact, chocolate flavours containing cocoa have the “least” protein content because cocoa represents a considerable percentage of the formula: Double Chocolate contains up to 15 g less protein per 100 g of product because it has a lot of pure cocoa to achieve its intense and distinctive flavour that has won over many of our Evolate-lovers; while flavours like Vanilla hardly impact the base protein content because they require only a small amount of aroma, and that hardly takes up any of the total composition.

However, despite these variations, the different flavours of a high-nutritional-quality protein like Evolate 2.0 are considered equally high quality options, with a protein content variation impact as small as 1–5 g per shake. HSN specialists don’t recommend basing flavour choice on protein content; instead, on personal preference for the flavour you like best, since all of them are equivalent in nutritional quality.

Protein quality markers - Evolate 2.0 the queen

Protein powders (as well as protein-rich foods) have different analytical methods to control protein quality, such as biological value or PDCAAS, with the latter being among the most notable.

These protein quality markers have been established as references by health and consumer entities to gauge how nutritionally good a protein is, based on the amount of nitrogen the body retains (and thus uses), and the amino acid content.

Evolate 2.0 is nutritionally, as a protein source, a good choice to consume along with other dairy proteins.

This also applies to whey concentrate: Evowhey Protein¡Another excellent option!

Formula with DigeZyme® - What it is and why it’s added: DigeZyme® is a registered trademark, patented by Sabinsa, with a blend of different enzymes that pair excellently to create a general synergy with the intake of nutrient-dense foods, like protein powder.

The various enzymes in the patented blend come from different sources and origins that condition the product’s adaptability to different dietary preferences, in addition to being allergen-free:

¡Enjoy a light protein with Evolate 2.0!

Evolate 2.0 for definition

As mentioned above, Evolate 2.0 has low fat and sugar content, hence it’s the ideal protein for 'definition'.

However, this isn’t the only use for this protein, since for many years whey isolates have been relegated to the role of a definition protein, with little use during the rest of the year, but ¿why?

With advances in food science and nutrition, protein powder users have learned that Evolate 2.0, like other whey isolates, isn’t only a definition protein but can be used all year round, at any time in an athlete’s season, regardless of goal.

If you like Evolate 2.0: its shake consistency, flavour, and nutritional value; use Evolate all year round, whether you’re bulking or cutting, you don’t need to switch proteins if you don’t want to try others, or alternate protein sources; Evolate is a complete and excellent option as your main protein.

When to take Evolate 2.0 - Ideal for any moment

It’s normal to have doubts about when to use protein powder because there’s a lot of misinformation online, but at HSN we’ll explain it simply:

Evolate 2.0 is powder food, it’s a food that’s been treated to concentrate its protein content, so it’s practically pure protein. So… when is the best time to eat a chicken breast? Sounds odd, right? The best time is when you want to eat it. Well, the same applies to Evolate 2.0, you can take it at any time you want to provide a good source of dietary protein.

The advantage Evolate 2.0 has, like other protein powders, is that they’re very practical; as a soluble powder, you can take them in a shaker, and simply by adding water you can consume a considerable amount of protein for your diet quickly, cleanly, practically and deliciously; without having to carry Tupperware or deal with heavy digestions.

That’s why Evolate 2.0 is ideal to use around training, before or after workouts, also in fasted states if you wake up in the morning and want a quick protein boost for your diet, but you can also take it as part of a meal, between meals, in recipes… It’s very versatile and adaptable to any need.

Recommendation: If you’re looking for a protein to use at night, it’s better to opt for caseins, as options that release over a longer time throughout all the hours you sleep.

Wide range of flavours at your disposal, which one’s yours?

Evolate 2.0 is one of our proteins with the widest flavour variety, surpassed only by Evowhey Protein.

The reason is that dairy proteins, and especially whey, besides being very commonly used and in high demand, are also easily flavoured; meaning it’s much easier to achieve good flavours than with other proteins like meat or plant-based ones.

That’s why with Evolate 2.0 you have many flavour choices, so you can pick your favorite or try several to settle on your top picks at home. For this, an excellent option is to use the Evolate 2.0 Tasting Pack.

The most purchased classic flavours in Evolate 2.0 are Cookies & Cream, Chocolate (and Double Chocolate after its launch), and Strawberry & Banana.

As less frequent flavours of protein: Coffee with Milk, Pistachio, and Chocolate Hazelnut Bomb are among the most successful in our own development.

If you’re someone who prefers sweeter flavours: Cookies & Cream, Custards and Speculoos will be your favorites. If, on the other hand, you prefer lower-sweetness options: Double Chocolate, Coffee with Milk, and Strawberry & Coconut will be options you’ll like more. Note that Evolate 2.0 is a protein developed to appeal to as many people as possible, so as sweets, all its flavours are sweet; if you’re used to consuming all your meals without added sugar or sweeteners, even the 'less sweet' Evolate 2.0 flavours may be too sweet for you. For you we have an option:

  •  Try the Mix Pack of Evolate 2.0, which consists of nzmp™ Fonterra™ Whey Protein Isolate plain raw material; with malt flavour powders for dairy proteins. This way you can regulate how much flavour and sweetness you want in your shake, achieving a homemade version of Evolate 2.0 less sweet if that’s what you’re after.

Q&A Evolate 2.0 - ¡HSN answers!

Can I take more than one scoop of Evolate 2.0 per shake? And more than one shake per day?

Yes, to both questions.

It’s common for our nutrinfo service experts, as well as our customer service department, to receive this question. We’re always ready to help with whatever you need! but this question has an easy answer.

Evolate 2.0, as well as other protein powders, are, as clarified above: Foods. So…

Would you wonder if you can only take 100 g of beef? Or if you can eat fish more than once a day?

These questions don’t make sense, right? They would always be answered with “Yes” and “Depends on…” your needs, goals, or what you have in the fridge. Evolate 2.0 works the same; there are still many people who believe that exceeding 30 g of protein per shake will cause a percentage of it not to be absorbed; this is one of nutrition’s biggest myths, protein is absorbed no matter how much you take and whether it’s slower or faster to absorb. Of course, if you’re a big person with significant bodyweight, or you’ve just trained in a fasted state, you’ll need more protein than a smaller person or with different goals or scenarios, and you can add 30, 40, 60 g or as much as you need in your shake.

And as a food, you can use several shakes per day, of course, as needed; in fact experienced athletes use proteins as one more meal in their diet, adapting it to their needs and carrying several protein shakes to take when they’re away from home, or when they need a quick and convenient protein source, without complications.

And if your question is more about how much Evolate you should consume, the truth is there’s no one answer, and it’s conditioned by the amount of protein you should consume in your diet; if you’re not sure how much that is, you can use our nutrition calculators, where the calculations you get will help you determine the ideal protein amount for you based on your goals and individual needs.

How to prepare Evolate 2.0? What do I need?

Water and a shaker, could it be any easier?

From here you can develop much more on how to prepare your best Evolate shake. For example: You can replace water with other drinks. If you’re taking a strawberry or raspberry Evolate, you can mix it with natural red fruit juice; if you’re taking a chocolate or caramel Evolate, you can mix it with milk to get a thicker and tastier shake; or with plant-based milk a coconut Evolate to get a shake with a sweet fruity vegetal taste.

To get a homogeneous shake, normally one cup and one spoon isn’t enough, since protein, even though instant, isn’t like instant cocoa or sugar, it doesn’t mix that easily. Some people use blenders with shaker cups, but that’s not necessary; normally the most practical, versatile and useful tool to prepare your shakes is a shaker like our Shaker with mixing ball HSN We Are Nutrition!

Can I take Evolate with milk or plant-based drink? Does it change anything?

Yes.

You can mix Evolate 2.0 with the drink you prefer; there’s really no problem mixing it with any drink you enjoy. Obviously there are options that don’t quite work, for example, the combination of a flavour like Coffee with orange juice is odd and not to most people’s taste, but there’s no incompatibility with its use.

Since Evolate flavours have a very marked taste profile, it’s usually recommended to pair them with neutral-tasting drinks, such as water, milk, or plant drinks.

However, not everyone makes them that way; many people, for example, make Cold Brew and mix in a shaker Evolate 2.0 in a chocolate or vanilla flavour, creating a kind of iced Café Latte, dairy and protein; a true delight, easy to prepare, in summer with ice. What do you think?

Nothing changes about Evolate’s nutritional characteristics depending on the liquid it’s mixed with; it’s not absorbed more or less, nor faster or slower.

Is it suitable for cooking? Does heating it reduce effectiveness?

Yes.

You can cook recipes with Evolate 2.0, from simple smoothies to more complex creations like cakes or pancakes. It’s hard to integrate Evolate due to its sweet flavour in savory recipes, but if you see an opportunity, try!

Using proteins for cooking has always raised a lot of uncertainty due to the concept of denaturation. Protein denaturation is a normal process that doesn’t affect the quality or the nutritional effects of the proteins consumed in a diet. It only affects the biological relevance of the intact protein, something that isn’t nutritionally significant since our gut absorbs only amino acids and small peptides.

Put another way, you don’t need to worry about heating effects on the protein and its chemical changes; it remains just as bioavailable.

A tip: If you mix Evolate 2.0 in very hot liquid, to the point of boiling, you’ll cause thermal damage to the powder that makes it harder to mix, ruining the protein’s solubility, so we recommend mixing it with cold, warm, or hot liquids but not boiling.

What is Evolate 2.0’s raw material?

Evolate 2.0 is produced exclusively with WPI nzmp™ from Fonterra™.

We’ve been working with nzmp™ from Fonterra in our whey proteins for years; we’re major customers of the dairy producer, which we’ve chosen for proteins like Evolate or Evowhey thanks to their excellent quality, plus the nutritional uniformity of their batches (and organoleptic) is well controlled; and because they care for farming, look after small local dairy farmers, and care for the animals in their dairy spaces. In fact, they guarantee the grass-fed status of the milk used to prepare our proteins.

The nzmp™ raw material from Fonterra™ can come from the plant in Lithuania, UK or the Netherlands; among them there are certain differences that can be observed in the raw material, which don’t have significant nutritional relevance since we’re always talking about the same raw material from the same company; but being a natural product with little processing, you can notice differences that the same raw material presents from different origins.

This is why if you buy a flavour of Evolate 2.0 today, from a batch, and within a year you buy another batch of the same product, made with the same nzmp™ raw material from Fonterra™ but from a different origin, you may notice the powder changed: denser, or more clumped; or the opposite, looser or lighter; this isn’t relevant since all raw material receptions go through our quality controls in tasting, documentation, and evaluation by R&D experts, so the quality of all Evolates is always the same: Excellent.

You can read more about Fonterra™'s nzmp raw material in our blog article: ¿What is the Raw Material used by Evowhey Protein?, which discusses Evowhey, where we also use exclusively nzmp™ from Fonterra™.

Do flavours containing 'instant coffee' have caffeine?

Coffee flavours with milk, and coffee with caramel contain some caffeine, from the soluble coffee used to achieve Evolate 2.0’s flavour.

The reason for not using decaffeinated coffee for flavours is that we don’t achieve the intensity we’re after; the instant coffee we use is of very high quality, with an American roast that gives delicious nuances to the coffee bean. The caffeine content of our instant coffee isn’t high and we don’t aim to add caffeine to our coffee-flavoured proteins; the caffeine content of a coffee-flavoured Evolate shake is only about the same as a few bars of dark chocolate.

Flavours that don’t contain caffeine, of course, don’t have that feature. Evolate 2.0 is a caffeine-free protein as such.

What does 'CFM' mean in Evolate 2.0?

Cross-Flow Microfiltration.

It’s the protein isolation process, consisting of filtration through a cross-flow membrane with a specific micropore size that allows obtaining the protein naturally present in milk whey.

Evolate 2.0 is whey protein isolate CFM.

Can I mix Evolate and Creatine in the same shake?

Yes, they’re fully compatible.

Can I use Evolate along with amino acids? Do I have to?

Yes. Evolate 2.0 can be mixed on the same day, same serving, and same shake with any isolated amino acid.

It’s not required to combine it, unless you’re after the specific nutritional effects of a particular amino acid (for example, beta-alanine). Evolate 2.0’s amino acid content is nutritionally complete and you don’t need to add BCAA's, EAA's or Glutamine (for example) to enrich it.

Why doesn’t Evolate have only one ingredient?

Because it wouldn’t taste good.

To develop the flavours we need to add ingredients that give it taste, like coffee or cocoa; aromas and sweeteners; if they’re not added, it’s not possible to get Evolate with flavour.

Similarly, the raw material as it arrives isn’t “one ingredient” either, since it contains lecithins, natural plant phospholipids that allow the protein to mix with a shaker.

Evolate 2.0 is an “instant” protein, without lecithin, it would be a “regular” one, and you can bet… mixing a regular protein in a shake is a titanic task, which is why you’ll find sunflower lecithin as an emulsifier in Evolate and in its flavourless version, because it allows the protein to mix quickly and easily in water or milk.

Do I have flavour-free options?

Yes.

You can use 100% Whey Protein Isolate from our RawSeries brand to use the same protein as Evolate 2.0, but flavourless, literally the same nzmp™ Fonterra material we use in Evolate 2.0, but packaged before we developed our own flavours.

Correct quality

Paco | 19/01/2026

It is good, the price is right, but I would like it to be in a jar and not in a bag, and to clarify, in the chocolate flavor I would like it to have a more intense chocolate flavor.

Está bien, de precio correcto, pero me gustaría que fuera un envase de bote y no de bolsa y por matizar, en el sabor chocolate me gustaría que fuera de sabor a chocolate más intenso.
